Founder and Visionary of

The InHerCity Project

Hello there. I’m Ebony. I am perhaps the most quiet, socially awkward introvert you would expect to see mentoring young girls but here I am as I am. And it works beautifully. I m a mother of 2 amazing human young adults, Krissy and Kiyah, and the wife of my very own breath of fresh air, Dilon. I am a salon owner, an online boutique owner, and a woman about change for the youth of Memphis. I am quiet and loud, joyful and grateful,
determined and hard working. I am a woman. A woman who fought extremely hard to find her relevance and will fight even harder to make sure that the young ladies under my care will know theirs all the more.

Growing up, I moved constantly from one neighborhood to another the back around. By the time I reached the age where self-assurance was expected, I felt lost and had no actual concept of what true confidence even looked like. I had no idea of many things such as mental health, proper hygiene, college, self awareness, financial literacy, self- love, none of the things that I have set my mind to ensuring that no other young lady, or man, would lack access to learning. I am here to bridge the gap between prevention and intervention and as I partner with other women from all facets of life who have their own unique ways of reaching the youth, whatever the need is, the change that we, the City of Memphis, so desperately need, will be fulfilled.
